Throughout his campaign and administration, Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight has stressed the importance of a college education, and of encouraging adults to return to school. Now, Mayor Goodnight is leading by example, by enrolling at Indiana University Kokomo.

Mayor Goodnight is taking classes through IU Kokomo’s ACCELerated Evening College, which is designed for adult students who are juggling family obligations, work responsibilities and other time demands.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The American Football Coaches Association and FBI’s National Child ID Program along with the FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association have joined efforts with Governor Mitch Daniels, Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell, and the Walmart Foundation to provide more than 162,000 child ID kits to students in the state of Indiana.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The statistics are staggering. Each year roughly 3,000 people die as a result of home fires and burns, and more than 200,000 individuals are seen in the nation's emergency rooms for burn injuries. Indiana alone had 78 people killed in home fires in 2008 and fire departments responded to over 6,300 home fires. There were 106 reports of children burned from fireworks in Indiana last year.

Archaeological find in Spring Mill State Park's Pioneer Village

Visitors to Spring Mill State Park can now delve even deeper into its 1800s history with the recent discovery of undisturbed deposits in the ground underneath the floor of the Leather Shop in the Pioneer Village.

"While the current cabin is not original to the Pioneer Village, we have always believed that there was a building at this same location in the 1800s," said Jill Vance, interpretive naturalist for the park. "Thus far, the excavation work seems to support that."
